How long should a Boudoir Shoot Last?

If you're considering booking a boudoir session, one question that you might be wondering about is: how long should a boudoir session last? On average our boudoir experience typically last about 3 hours, with hair and make-up and our standard 90-minute session. But, we'll explore some factors that can influence the duration of a boudoir session, as well as some tips for making the most of your time in front of the camera.

Factors that Influence the Duration of a Boudoir Session
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of how long a boudoir session should last. The duration of your session will depend on a variety of factors, including:
  1. The number of outfits and poses you want to incorporate into your session.
  2. What bonus sets you decide to incorporate into your shoot and the amount of time needed for setup and teardown.
  3. For hair and makeup, if you have long or thick hair or want a bolder look, the hair and make-up time could be longer
  4. Your personal preferences and comfort level in front of the camera, you don't want to feel rushed and get the time to get each shot and outfit.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Boudoir Session
Here are some things you can do to make the most of your time in front of the camera. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:
  1. Communicate your preferences and goals with your photographer. If you have specific preferences, let them know what poses, outfits, and bonus sets you're interested in, as well as any concerns or hesitations you may have.
  2. Come prepared with a variety of outfits and accessories. Bring a few different lingerie sets, as well as any jewelry, shoes, or props you'd like to incorporate into your photos. (Don't worry you will also have access to the client closet, if you don't bring anything) Make sure your outfits are steamed and tags are cut out, so you can be ready to go.
  3. Take care of yourself before the session. Get plenty of rest the night before, eat a light meal before the shoot, and hydrate throughout the day.
  4. Trust your photographer and embrace the experience. Remember that boudoir photography is meant to celebrate your beauty and sensuality, and that your photographer is there to guide you and make you feel comfortable.
With some preparation and communication, you can make the most of your boudoir session and create stunning images that you'll cherish for a lifetime.
