Well ladies, I did it, I got in front of a camera....a video camera. I have been wanting to make a video about my "why" and how boudoir found me, but I have been putting it off...for years. What's worse is I was using the same excuses you have: I need to lose a few pounds, I'm going to look (and sound) stupid, etc. Then one day I started to put it on paper, exactly how I felt about the gift of boudoir and what I wanted to tell you ladies, and then I just KNEW I had to do it! I enlisted the incredibly talented Matti Godfrey of Foxy Creations Video to come to the studio for a few sessions and this is the magic she created. When I first watched it, I thought I would pick apart every little thing or mistake I made, but it felt so TRUE to myself that I couldn't. It is ME, that's how I really look, how I really sound, and those are the real smiles and laughs I give my clients during a session. (And yes I made the #1 Photographer Pet Peeve of leaving a hair tie on my wrist the whole time...ARGH)
At the end of the day, if we can be ok with being ourselves, then we can focus on others.

When thinking about what you’re going to wear for your Chattanooga Boudoir Session, sometimes it’s best to start with what you should avoid. You might be tempted to just go to your pajama drawer and pull something you already have, which is totally fine in some cases, but sometimes your sleepwear is not the answer for photos.
1.) Baby Dolls and Nightgowns - While these are comfortable for sleeping they do nothing for your shape. No matter your shape or size, you want lingerie that accentuates your curves, not flowy material. Same with silk nightgowns, even though they look and feel luxurious, the fabric has no give and does not show your natural shape in a flattering way. 2.) Bright Colors - In photos bright colors will photograph even brighter, leaving your clothing to stand out more than you. We want to draw attention to your natural beauty, so softer colors, jewel tones, and darker colors will help do just that. 3.) Crazy Patterns - Same as the bright colors, you don’t want your outfit to be so busy that we loose you in the photo. A simple two toned lace is a perfect way to add texture without being too distracting. Of course, in all things, there is an exception to every rule! So if you have something YOU LOVE that falls within this list, feel free to bring it and we can always find a pose or lighting to make you look amazing in it. The most important thing is that you are being the real YOU! |
