5 Myths About Boudoir Photography You Shouldn't Believe

You've heard of boudoir photography, and you have a lot of preconceived notions about it. Forget what you've heard and don't believe these common myths.

You have to get naked
Not if you don't want to! While you have the option to take nude or implied nude boudoir photos, the session is 100% what you want! If you don't want to take off your clothes, don’t. And if you want to wear a potato sack, then we will find a way to make it sexy. The photo shoot is meant to make you comfortable and confident, so you get to make the rules. Whether you want classy boudoir photos, simple boudoir photos, sexy boudoir pictures, or even topless boudoir, you have complete creative control. You can wear whatever you want, even if what you want is a potato sack!

You have to be really confident in front of the camera
Even if you've never had professional pictures taken in your life, you can do a boudoir photo session. Brittany will help you with poses and make sure you look beautiful in every shot. Plus, this type of photography is so empowering that your confidence will come out as the shoot progresses.

You have to be skinny
This is a sad one, and so many women believe it. Boudoir photography is all about celebrating and loving your body, no matter what you look like. Women of all shapes and sizes have experienced lingerie photography, and that means you can too. It's time to fall in love with your body, and these photo shoots can help you do that.

You have to be young
Why would the celebration of your body be exclusive to young women? No matter how old you are, you deserve to love and celebrate yourself too. There is no age limit on loving yourself and feeling beautiful. Do you want to celebrate your 40th or 50th birthday with a boudoir shoot? Do it!

You have to have someone to give the photos to
While boudoir photos make a great gift for a significant other, they don't have to be a gift. You can take the photos for you, for your future self, or for any reason you want to. Celebrating you is all about you, not anyone else.

No matter what you look like, how old you are, or what your motivation is, you can enjoy lingerie photography as much as anyone else. Only 5% of women in this country are naturally shaped like the women portrayed in the media, so if you don't look like the models on TV, you're in the majority! Celebrate yourself the way you are  today with a confidence-boosting photoshoot.
